Jannary 22, 2007: Members of the Submarine Base Fire Department (B-Shift) conducted its first of many training evolutions at structures that are slated for rebuild. Training being conducted today consisted of ventilation and search practices.
I am a career firefighter with the Submarine Base Fire Department in Groton, CT and have been employed there for 5 years. In the past my affiliations have been with the Noank, Poquonnock Bridge and Old Mystic Fire Departments. These departments have helped me greatly in 'learning the ropes' of the fire service which eventually landed me at the Subase. I thank the members of those departments for taking me under their wings and allowing me to ride their coat tails.
